Sülzer differenzial

Hallo zusammen, Ich bin aus USA. Ich habe zwei Lt 4x4. Ich habe eine problem mit mein Sülzer. Die diff hinten ist kaput. Ich suche für eine crown und eine pinion. Teile nummer: 919.04.701.04

Hi Chris,

unfortunately, I have no idea, if the Sülzer pinion and crown wheel is the same as in the stock-VW 4x4 ( 291525143M).
The latter is still available at VW-Classic parts, but for around 1700 $

Thank you so much, Josef! Unfortunately, the Sülzer set is not the same as the 291 VW stuff. Its Sülzer proprietary. I just read the thread relating to this where you posted on the other site. Do I need to sign up there as well to post in that thread?

My Sülzer is not with Dana axles unfortunately. It has the Hurth axles :(

Back to your problem: Maybe it would help if you disassemble the diff and make a dimensioned sketch of the faulty parts?! I forgot to say, that the part number you stated before, is not a VW part number, rather a hurth number.

Last chance would be thinking about alternative axles?! I think you have broader technological possibilities in the States than we have in Europe. We have very restrictive approval laws here.

I have taken it all apart for now. I think I may have sourced the part through the VW LT 4x4 page on Facebook. We shall see though. He is going to send it to me and once I have it I will be able to tell if it will work. Otherwise I will be searching again!

I do know its not a VW part number. I wish it was! That would make things a lot easier!

I thought about changing to Dana axles, but that is a lot of work and I intend to sell this LT once the other one has the TDI swap completed. Sometimes I do envy your TÜV. Sometimes I do not ;) Some of the cars on the road here are very scary. I work on them for a living and so I see some things that would make you scared to be on the same road.

Hallo zusammen. I am the person that was looking for the drive set. I managed to get one from Stefan. But now, I need technical information. Does anyone happen to know pinion bearing preload specification? Also carrier bearing preload specification? And lastly, torque specification for the bolts that secure the ring gear (crown gear) to the differential?
